  New toy

I received my Nokia N770 yesterday. The screen is really nice, and the character recognition is really impressive. Currently my major problem is the wifi connexion, it's really unstable but I don't know if the problem is on the tablet side or on my laptop.

I tested the chess game and lost in "easy" mode (not a surprise :-) ). Already some cool apps are coming, and I could connect to IRC using XChat 2.4.5.

Next step : get root !

Update : got root ! The flasher utility did not see my device, but I finally got it by bringing it off/on several times before and after runing the flasher utility. The device is now in R&D mode, so I can use sudo /usr/sbin/gainroot and use stuff like usbnet. I now can really play with my toy :)

  ipv6 on Nokia 770

I could have ipv6 working on my 770 :
Nokia770-40:~# cat /proc/net/if_inet6

[pterjan@plop ~]$ ping6 -I usb0 fe80::68a7:5eff:fec4:3578

I did violently patch some stuff as the kernel is built without xfrm (which won't work as module without changes) and I copied some functions from random module that are only built if ipv6 is enabled, but it looks like it works. I now have to see how to install or package iproute2 and iputils.
